Hi, I am Maggie a Sales Consultant in McGowans Jewellers. I was absolutely delighted when Danny, my future son in law, told me he was going to propose to my daughter. Not only that, but he gave me the honour of helping him find her dream engagement ring.  

The Engagement Ring 

With years of experience behind her, I knew exactly who to go to for guidance – our Senior Buyer, Margaret. Using her expertise and great eye, she sourced a beautiful oval brilliant cut diamond solitaire that I knew she would adore. Check out some similar rings here. 

Ring Personalisation  

Once the ring had been sourced, we invited Danny into the Argyll Arcade store to have a look at the diamond for the first time. It was that moment he knew it was the one. He was in awe with how beautiful it was. Danny chose a classic platinum setting to compliment the modernity of the stone which completed the look beautifully.  

The ring was then made up in our workshop and sized to the perfect fit for my daughter. I was now not only faced with the challenge of keeping the biggest secret of my life but was left waiting in anticipation for him to pop the big question – I couldn’t wait! 

The Proposal 

Danny arranged the most perfect day out at Trump Turnberry – an enchanting resort perfect for a proposal. They were blessed with beautiful weather and great views. Upon taking a walk to the Turnberry Light House, positioned perfectly in front of Ailsa Craig, he got down on one knee and asked my daughter to marry him. She was absolutely delighted and blown away by the ring – it was everything she had ever dreamt of.
