Scotland is at the heart of our fourth-generation family-run business. First established in 1895, McGowans began as a humble market stall in the East End of Glasgow. In 1930, the business then moved into the city centre, firstly at Sauchiehall St where we grew in popularity over the years and developed life-long friendships with many of our loyal customers.
As the reputation of McGowans continued to grow, so did the need for more stores. We continued to develop with multiple stores Scotland, becoming known as McGowans; the engaging people! We now operate from our two boutiques in Glasgow’s iconic Argyll Arcade. If you’re further afield, you can now shop with us online.

Just as our business has progressed through the generations, many regular customers can say their parents, or even their grandparents, have bought jewellery throughout their lives in McGowans.
Family trade has encountered many changes over the years, in terms of our stock, technology, and indeed the numerous interior refurbishments of the stores themselves.
