“Jewellery, to me, represents a statement of love. It marks a memorable, significant moment or person. It should be worn with pride and enjoyment. My engagement ring is a diamond 3 stone style. I have worn this every day for 25 years. It was originally bought in McGowans as a diamond brooch and remodelled into a diamond 3 stone.

I feel privileged to lead a very committed and loyal team (full of good friends too). It is a pleasure to come to work every day and handle our range of beautiful new and antique/vintage jewellery, alongside maintaining our high standards of customer service, quality and value for our product range. I enjoy observing new trends and exploring new ways to grow the company whilst adapting the business for an ever-changing retail climate.”

 

 

“My passion is undoubtedly antique and vintage jewellery, which I have been buying, selling and talking about for over 40 years! Some special pieces to me include an art deco diamond brooch and unique rings which have been estate items. I enjoy sourcing and helping people to find special pieces of jewellery. For me, older jewellery really interests me as it holds such interesting heritage and stories behind it. I have met and formed friendships with many clients over the years. I bonded particularly with two ladies who I met at a talk – they both love the antique and vintage items. We spent many humorous hours at the ‘sweetie shop’ (their reference to our windows) choosing their favourite ‘sweets’!”

 

 

“Jewellery to me is symbolic in that it evokes memories of happy times and it acts as a reminder of people who are dear to me. My Grandmothers wedding ring is an item that I have which is very precious to me. It holds no particular value but the sentimental value it has is priceless.

For the above reasons I have a keen interest in the repair side of the business. I love the feeling of taking a family heirloom that needs refurbishment and returning it to the way it’s remembered. This side of my job is very rewarding.”
